Sick.
Throughout my whole life I've been a very nature-orientated kid. And as I grow older, I am much more merciful towards animals or nature than my own kind. And as I became more aware and in-tuned with the world around me, it began to sicken me the way people hurt animals as if they were toys. Or destroy plants and nature as if it didn't mean anything. I've always had a strange way of understanding people's point of views on mainly everything. But I could never understand what made people think they were important enough to do such actions to things that have truly existed before we did. Many things are older than we are. We may believe we are so 'important' to this world, but in reality, we are but a second passing in the earth's great clock of existence. None of us realize how extremely lucky we are to have been the final product in such a beautiful place. Which is why we need to look out for our Mother before we look out for ourselves. Think of you're mom, or mother figure. You would do anything for her, wouldn't you? She's the person you love. She's there for you. She puts you in front of everything else. Start seeing the earth as your mother. Because she puts us first. She makes the perfect conditions for our survival and flourishing. We need to start doing the same. We know we have the power to change things. We just have to unleash it.

Summer Boredom.
When you're a kid a huge thing in your life is, of course, Summer. Everyone goes about their school year excitedly awaiting Summer to arrive. And for the first couples weeks or maybe the first month, it's a blast. But after a little while things die down and people go on vacations, and you're left at home. So, for mostly the rest of Summer, you are plagued with boredom. And once you are bored, you get that grumpy 'I hate everything right now' attitude, when nothing is good enough for you and you're constantly in a slump. Well, going with the theme of 'Making a difference' you can put that time to good use. And I understand that your parents say that all the time but it usually involves chores around the house, usually dishes or cleaning your room, but I'm thinking more, helpful. You can find a website made by people in your town that shows groups and clubs for many different activities. It also will let you find opportunities for volunteer work in and around your area. Most people, especially kids, don't understand how important volunteer work is to the big picture of change. If every kid in every city chipped in to some sort of organization, the change in that certain issue would be astronomical! So, who cares if you don't get paid for the work you do? Knowing that you truly helped someone or perhaps many people who genuinely needed it, should be enough for you. It certainly will warm your conscious. Then, who knows, you may make a name in the volunteer business, and one day if you need help, will get more than you expected. If you get involved enough, you could even begin your own movements for issues you think you could help resolve. We can do this. One step at a time.

Change. Something everything constantly goes through. But as humans, change becomes more and more difficult for our kind. Small changes are very easy and simple to us. But anything more than a change in the day tends to clot our minds a bit. Especially with my generation. We see change as an impossible action. Whether or not we admit it, or even are aware of it, we constantly have doubt and pessimism towards ourselves changing the world. When, in truth, we are the strongest chance of it happening. Every person has the right tools to change things. A mind, and a voice. The mind to us, is nothing but the thing that keeps us functioning. We don't recognize the fact that our minds are the strongest things we have. Our mind is where the process of realizing right from wrong starts. It was and is essential to every person who has changed and will change the world. We will not be a forgotten generation. We will be the generation that changed the world into a better place. But we have to figure out that we CAN be that generation, and make it happen. We have to have more that hope. We have to have ambition and strength. Change is something that certainly doesn't come quickly or easily. But it is constant, and it is possible.
